Bandi Sanjay hails BSF role in countering Naxal networks

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar lauded the Border Security Force on Friday for standing at the forefront of national defence and suppressing Naxalite networks. Speaking after inaugurating newly constructed administrative and residential infrastructure at the BSF Sector Headquarters in Chennai, Bandi Sanjay Kumar highlighted that the Malkangiri region is progressing toward peace and development because BSF personnel act as a protective shield. The newly inaugurated facilities include an administrative block constructed at Rs 11.07 crore, a Gazetted Officers building costing Rs 4.74 crore, personnel barracks built at Rs 9.86 crore, and a Subordinate Officers building costing Rs 5.30 crore. The minister also planted saplings within the campus.

Expressing delight over the project completion, Bandi Sanjay Kumar noted that since its establishment in 2014, the BSF Chennai-Malkangiri Sector has played a pivotal role in countering anti-national forces. He stated that the courage, vigilance, and dedication demonstrated by jawans truly embody the BSF motto Duty Unto Death. Emphasising the commitment of the central government, he affirmed that modern amenities are being provided to ensure the safety, well-being, and morale of troops who guard borders under extreme weather conditions.

The minister remarked that the new barracks symbolise respect for soldiers by offering spaces for rest, hygiene, and daily needs, enabling personnel to resume duties with renewed enthusiasm.

Furthermore, BSF personnel serving across South India, along with their families, will gain direct access to welfare initiatives, administrative support, medical care, and educational facilities through the Chennai Sector headquarters. Bandi Sanjay Kumar concluded by calling for collective efforts toward building a strong, secure, and developed India.
