Centre lauds TG for effective rollout of VB-G RAM G scheme
Hyderabad: Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday lauded the Telangana government for its efforts in implementing the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act. The Union Minister congratulated the State for initiating works in almost all Gram Panchayats. He said the move reflected the government’s commitment to providing employment to rural households and implementing the provisions of the Act effectively at the grassroots level.
In a letter to Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), Chouhan said the State government’s efforts in implementing the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, were commendable. He particularly appreciated the notification of the scheme, completion of necessary preparations and commencement of works in almost all Gram Panchayats.
The Union Minister said the Centre had earmarked an interim allocation of Rs 23,825.3 crore for Telangana for the financial year 2026-27. Additionally, it had approved the release of Rs 1,269.16 crore as the first instalment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted implementation of the programme.
The funds would help sustain employment opportunities, facilitate the execution of works and ensure timely payment of wages to workers across the State.
Telangana has generated 1.83 crore person-days under the VB-G RAM G programme so far, he added.
