Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested Mahabubabad District Manager V Narasimha Rao on Friday for amassing alleged illegal assets valued at Rs 9.41 crore. The civil supplies officer, currently serving as District Manager at Mahabubabad and formerly stationed at the Khammam Collectorate, faces formal charges for accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Investigating teams conducted simultaneous searches across seven locations, including LB Nagar, Khammam, and Mahabubabad. During operations, ACB officials discovered five open residential plots in Ballepalli, Raghunadhapalem, and Velugumatla within Khammam district, totaling 1230.16 square yards registered under the names of Narasimha Rao and his wife, with a document value of Rs 30.72 lakh.
Additionally, search parties uncovered extensive agricultural land holdings across Suryapet district.
These include 1.08 acres at Kamala Cheruvu valued at Rs 1.17 crore, 21.3 acres at Sirikonda worth Rs 6.545 crore, and two separate 5.3-acre parcels in Namavaram under the names of the officer and his father-in-law, valued at Rs 1.92 crore each.
