Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to women and girls across Telangana on the joyous occasion of the Bathukamma festival, which is slated to begin on Saturday.
The Chief Minister expressed his desire that women celebrate the floral festival with grandeur by singing traditional songs and organising vibrant cultural events throughout the nine-day festivities, spanning from Engili Poola Bathukamma to Saddula Bathukamma.
In an official message, Revanth Reddy highlighted the unique nature of Bathukamma, which involves worshipping nature through creative floral arrangements and venerating Goddess Gauramma, representing a distinctive tradition within the country.
Revanth Reddy remarked that Bathukamma stands as a true testament to the collective lifestyle and solidarity of Telangana people, reflecting their unity in sharing both joys and sorrows. He stated that the festival showcases the cultural grandeur of the region alongside female unity, embodying profound social values.
Emphasising that Bathukamma symbolizes Telangana self-respect and time-honoured traditions, the Chief Minister affirmed that the people government gives utmost priority to environmental conservation, aligning with the regional culture of nature worship.
