Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed that the state government would take constructive steps to promote Telangana, India’s youngest state, as the first rapidly developed one in the country.

Participating in ‘Sadar Sammelanam’ in the city on Wednesday, the Chief Minister sought the support of the Yadav community to achieve the development goals set by the state government. The Chief Minister stressed that Yadavs’ support was crucial for the completion of the Musi Rejuvenation project, Metro Rail phase -2, and the Bharat Future city. “Our endeavour is to establish Telangana as a highly developed state in the country. We are already moving forward with the development of the Musi Riverfront, the expansion of the Metro rail network, creation of 'Bharat Future City' and these require the support of Yadavs,“ he observed.

Extending his greetings to the entire Yadav community on the occasion of the Sadar Sammelanam, Revanth Reddy said that the Yadav community had been given appropriate representation. The Chief Minister assured that the Yadavs would get their due share in the representation of the community in the future. “It is also our responsibility to ensure that the self-respect of the Yadav brothers is never compromised. Arrangements are already being made for the protection of cows at the 'Goshala' (cow shelter) in Yadagirigutta,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister highlighted the Yadavs’ contribution in the development of Hyderabad city. The famous Golconda Fort in Hyderabad was also popularly known as ‘Gollamkonda’ in the past, he pointed out.

Stating that the government had sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the festival, Revanth Reddy said that the ‘Sadar Sammelanam’ had been declared as a state festival in recognition of the Yadav community. The Sadar sammelanam was also a celebration of the self-respect of all the people of Telangana state. “ Our Yadav brothers welcomed and embraced those who arrived in this city from various parts of the country. My government declared the ‘Sadar Sammelanam’ as a state festival”, the Chief Minister said.

The caste census conducted in Telangana had become a role model for the entire country, he added.
