Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Vijayadashami, which symbolises the triumph of good over evil and righteousness over injustice. Describing Dasara as a festival that holds a special place in Telangana’s culture and traditions, the Chief Minister said it imparts valuable lessons of courage, truth, righteousness, unity and self-confidence. He called upon people to work towards building a society rooted in love, compassion, brotherhood and humanity by giving up negative traits such as ego, jealousy, hatred and injustice.
“I sincerely wish that this Vijayadashami brings joy to every home, fills every family with happiness and prosperity, and bestows good health, abundant wealth and success upon everyone,” Revanth Reddy said. The Chief Minister noted that Vijayadashami commemorates the power of Goddess Durga, who vanquished the demon Mahishasura, as well as Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. These legendary victories, he said, symbolise the eternal triumph of good over evil.
Revanth Reddy also highlighted Telangana’s unique Dasara tradition of worshipping the Jammi tree and exchanging its leaves, regarded as gold, with elders while seeking their blessings.
He said the custom reflects the importance of cherishing nature, respecting elders and preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage.
