Talasani Srinivas Yadav
Hyderabad: BRSLP deputy leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday questioned the ruling party whether there were no eligible Backward Classes leaders to contest Legislative Council elections under the Graduates quota. Addressing a press conference, Srinivas Yadav alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was actively misleading Backward Classes.
He pointed out that former Chief Ministers NT Rama Rao, N Chandrababu Naidu, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and K Chandrashekar Rao previously passed Assembly resolutions seeking enhanced reservations. Srinivas Yadav emphasised that despite strong community movements, Congress allocated both seats to upper castes, asking whether Backward Classes had not voted for Congress or lacked qualified graduates. Stating that candidate selection rested entirely in administration hands, he asserted voters must teach Congress a harsh lesson.
Echoing similar sentiments, MLC Dasoju Sravan stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi preached moral values during his Bharat Jodo Yatra while party leadership in Telangana stifles community voices.
Sravan alleged Congress severely compromised Backward Classes self-respect, pointing out that individuals like Chanagani Dayakar were denied opportunities and treated poorly.
