Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said Telangana is an enabler for industry and business, and called on the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to continue, and step up, collaboration as the state makes its way to reach its goal of becoming a $ 3 trillion economy by 2047.
The Deputy Chief Minister, addressing FICCI @100’ celebrations and the ‘Telangana Deep-Tech Leadership Summit,’ on Wednesday here, said Telangana drives industrial growth with investment friendly policies and world class infrastructure.
With the deliberations at the meeting focused on DeepTech, Vikramarka said, “Telangana has a strong foundation for this work. Hyderabad brings together software, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, aerospace and engineering. Our opportunity lies in getting these capabilities to work together.”
“Large-scale wealth creation and economic development are possible only when government entities, the private sector, and research institutions work together. Telangana’s geographical conditions, strategic location, and infrastructure are highly favourable for investors. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the government is committed to instilling confidence in investors and fostering an environment where their investments can thrive,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed on smooth pathways from funding to product development and production using DeepTech. “As Finance Minister, I notice that every technology presentation has an impressive graph. The returns rise sharply, usually somewhere beyond the current financial year. The request for funding, however, is always immediate.”
But Deep Technology, he said, “Does require us to think beyond the next financial year. A new material, a medical device or a better battery can take years of research and repeated testing before it earns its first rupee. We need investment that can wait for results, and the discipline to check whether we are making progress.”
On taking Deep-Tech forward in Telangana, he called for a practical Deep-Tech blueprint that will cover the “the most difficult distance for an invention which is few kilometres between a laboratory and its first customer.”
