Demands of RTC staff reasonable: CPI to CM
The CPI Hyderabad City Council secretary E T Narsimha warned here on Sunday that the RTC employees would intensify their strike if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao does not invite the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for talks.
Himayathnagar: The CPI Hyderabad City Council secretary E T Narsimha warned here on Sunday that the RTC employees would intensify their strike if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao does not invite the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for talks.
In a statement, he said success of the 'Chalo Tankbund' rally by the striking employees despite the restrictions imposed by the police and managing to cross the security cordons indicated their resolve. 'This should be clear to KCR, as the employees did not succumb to his three deadlines for joining duty.
The CPI leader alleged that the CM wanted to 'force the employees to surrender but it has not been possible. Already the strike entered the 37th day on Sunday. At least now the government should concede the just demands of the employees and invite them immediately for talks', the statement said.
Narsimha pointed out that 'it would be foolish to think that the RTC employees could be suppressed by the police. He said the State administration should be run in accordance with the wishes and desires of the people. 'Anyone who goes against the people is sure to face their wrath'.
