Census officials review training sessions

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation
Hyderabad:As part of the Census of India 2027, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commenced training its officials for Phase II population enumeration, focusing on precise data collection, digital management tools, and comprehensive household coverage.
The training programme for Charge Clerks and Technical Assistants across GHMC Circles 1 to 30 and the Secunderabad Cantonment Board began on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Telangana Director of Census Operations Bharathi Hollikeri and GHMC Commissioner and Principal Census Officer RV Karnan visited the training sessions alongside senior administrative officials to review operational progress.
The programme familiarised participants with operational requirements for conducting population enumeration. Officials received comprehensive instruction on forming Enumeration Blocks, preparing abridged house lists, and navigating the Census Management and Monitoring System portal.
Participants also received practical training on using the dedicated Population Enumeration mobile application designed for field enumerators and supervisors, including detailed procedures for recording responses to Questions 1 through 40.
Furthermore, the modules covered self-enumeration procedures, which allow citizens to submit information independently through a dedicated web portal. Officials were briefed on digital workflows, public awareness campaigns, cascading training models for field personnel, and logistically managing field operations. Additional Commissioner B Santosh Kumar and the Additional Commissioner of Elections were present during reviews, with sessions conducted by Joint Director V Sreekanth and Statistical Officer Shiva Raju.
Addressing attendees, Bharathi Hollikeri and RV Karnan stressed the national importance of Census 2027, urging officials to execute responsibilities with precision and dedication. They instructed that all field activities must meet strict timelines while maintaining data quality standards. Officials were directed to ensure complete population coverage without omitting or duplicating any family, household, census house, or building during field operations.
