Hyderabad: Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that Indiramma Towers, on the lines of the Hyderabad model, would be constructed in the municipal corporations of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Nalgonda.
A notification for the construction of G+5 buildings would be issued before Diwali. He reiterated that the Indiramma Towers in Hyderabad would be ready by the Bonalu festival next year.
He has called upon public representatives, officials and beneficiaries to celebrate Diwali in every Indiramma house across the state, describing the lighting of lamps in the homes of the poor as a symbol of the people’s government’s commitment to their welfare.
Addressing a press conference at the Medchal-Malkajgiri district headquarters on Wednesday, along with IT Minister and Ranga Reddy district in-charge Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti said housewarming ceremonies had been completed for 2,21,500 houses sanctioned under the first phase of the Indiramma housing scheme. Another 1.90 lakh houses were currently at various stages of construction.
He said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, had taken up the ambitious housing programme despite financial challenges, with the objective of providing security and self-respect to poor families. The minister appealed to public representatives, District Collectors, Housing Department officials, Indiramma Housing Committee members and others associated with the scheme to visit the beneficiaries’ homes on Diwali and participate in the celebrations.
