Massive cranes have been set up at NTR Marg for the immersion of the 69-foot idol; the Khairatabad Vinayaka idol is scheduled to be immersed at Crane No. 5.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Ganesh procession and immersion, which draw hundreds of thousands of devotees. To prevent any untoward incidents along the route—stretching from the city outskirts to the heart of the city at Hussain Sagar—police from four commissionerates have deployed an unprecedented force of 45,000 personnel.
