'Black Magic’ shrinking his height? Man seeks collector’s help

Kurnool: An unusual grievance submitted to the Kurnool District Collector has left officials surprised, with a man claiming that black magic was allegedly causing his height to shrink and bringing about strange changes in his body and behaviour. Though the complaint was submitted at the district grievance cell.is making rounds on social platforms on Friday, where he sought action against those whom he suspected of targeting him through occult practices.

Sudhakar of Palakurthi village in Kodumur mandal, a graduate who said he had prepared for Civil Services examinations, alleged that his elder brother had died due to black magic and claimed that unidentified persons were now targeting him in a similar manner. He reportedly told officials that he had been experiencing unusual behavioural changes, including anger towards his mother, and said he felt different during the day and night.

What particularly caught the attention of officials was his claim that his height had reduced from 165 cm to 158 cm. Sudhakar alleged that he felt his height was decreasing mainly during the night and urged the Collector to identify the persons allegedly performing black magic on him and take action. The unusual grievance subsequently attracted public attention and discussion.

Officials, however, maintained that superstitious practices or black magic cannot cause a person's height to decrease. They suggested that unexplained physical sensations or behavioural changes could have other physical or psychological causes and indicated that appropriate medical assessment and counselling would be more useful. They also advised people not to attribute unexplained changes in health or behaviour to superstitious beliefs without seeking professional help.
