Hyderabad: Regularpractice of yoga and meditation can help overcome fear, anxiety and mental unrest while fostering inner peace and lasting joy, Swami Smaranananda Giri said at a programme organised by the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India at Haryana Bhavan in Secunderabad on Thursday.
Speaking on ‘Kriya Yoga, An Antidote to Stress, Worry and Anxiety’, he urged people to incorporate spiritual discipline into their daily lives, drawing on the teachings of ancient rishis. Referring to Lord Krishna, he said even modest spiritual practice could help overcome deep-seated fear. Swami Smaranananda said anxiety was inevitable, but regular meditation could develop inner strength to face difficult situations with greater calm.
He emphasised the importance of nurturing the soul through meditation and experiencing inner divinity and unconditional love. Explaining Kriya Yoga as taught by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, he outlined three meditation techniques — Hong-Sau concentration, Aum meditation and advanced Kriya Yoga through initiation.
