KTR should seek probe into BRS-era deals: Adi Srinivas
In Short
Government Whip Adi Srinivas challenged BRS leader KTR to face an inquiry into Yadadri thermal power project alleged irregularities and stop politicizing rainfall deficits.

Government Whip Adi Srinivas
Hyderabad: Government Whip Adi Srinivas on Friday launched a sharp attack on BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, accusing him of leveling baseless allegations against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and attempting to politicise the challenges posed by the El NiƱo-induced rainfall deficit.
Srinivas criticised KTR over his appearance and language, alleging that changing his outward appearance would not change his political approach. He challenged the BRS leader to demonstrate the courage to face an inquiry into alleged irregularities during the previous BRS government.
The Government Whip demanded that KTR write to the State government seeking an investigation into coal procurement agreements and alleged irregularities in the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant Project since 2014.
He alleged that commissions were involved in coal imports and that large sums of public money were misused in the power project. These allegations were made by Srinivas and were not independently established in his remarks.
Srinivas also referred to allegations concerning Singareni Collieries, water diversion from Panchapanduvula Cheruvu to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse, assigned lands at Erravalli, luxury hotel transactions and alleged encroachment on the Phirangi Nala drainage channel during the construction of the Janwada farmhouse.
He said the Chief Minister had presented details on these issues and challenged KTR to seek an inquiry rather than make counter-allegations against the Chief Minister's family. Srinivas also referred to statements by KCR's daughter, K Kavitha, regarding alleged irregularities. The Congress leader accused the BRS leadership of politicising the prevailing rainfall deficit and farmers' concerns instead of supporting efforts to address the situation.
He said the government was working to assist farmers amid concerns over water availability and urged the opposition to act responsibly. Srinivas also challenged KTR to substantiate his claims about the Chief Minister and warned that voters would judge the BRS leadership on its conduct and response to public issues.
