Meteorological Department declares Red Alert for Telangana amid heavy rains likely

The Meteorological Department has issued 'Red Alert' for Telangana amid the forecast of extremely heavy rains in the eastern and northeastern districts on Wednesday due to the impact of the cyclone.

The districts Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Khammam, Hanamkonda, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal. Meanwhile, 'Orange Alert' has been issued for ten other districts, and followed by yellow alert to the rest of the districts.

The heavy rains are expected owing to a severe depression located over the Bay of Bengal region. Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall activity is predicted in the state today and tomorrow. The people have been advised to be vigilant in view of the winds and thundershowers

On the other hand, Hyderabad had heavy showers overnight, and it is cloudy this morning. The weather department predicts that there will be heavy rains in Telangana for the next three days.
