Suspended Jubilee Hills CI gets relief in Supreme Court in assault case

The Circle Inspector (CI) Srinivasulu Reddy, who faced suspension after he was accused of sexual harassment of a woman, got some respite from the Supreme Court of India. An interim order has been made by the Supreme Court, which says that Srinivasulu Reddy will not be arrested or subjected to any form of coercive measure until the next hearing.

The matter was decided by a two-judge bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and R. Mahadevan, andthe above order was made to the Hyderabad City Police.. The hearing was later adjourned by the bench.

Some serious allegations have emerged that Srinivasulu Reddy, former Jubilee Hills Station House Officer (SHO) and Circle Inspector, sexually harassed a woman and moreover, also blackmailed her for getting abortion done.

Based on these charges, he was banned from working for the government. He had applied for anticipatory bail in the High Court of Telangana, which was rejected. Consequently, CI Srinivasulu Reddy challenged the order in the Supreme Court of India.
