Hyderabad: All India Professionals Congress chairperson Madhu Yashki Goud has alleged that certain officials misled Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and the Telangana government on lands included in the prohibited properties list under Section 22-A.
He suggested that governments and political parties should establish a system similar to a “shadow ministry” in the United States to independently monitor developments, identify administrative shortcomings and suggest corrective measures and policies in the public interest.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Madhu Yashki Goud said independent assessments and external reports on government decisions and ongoing developments were essential for effective governance. Such a mechanism, he said, would help identify mistakes as they occur and enable timely corrective action.
Referring to Government Order (GO) 118, he said several shortcomings in the previous administration’s decisions had been identified and brought to the notice of the Revenue Minister and concerned officials. Following the suggestions, the GO had been revised with additional provisions, he said.
Targeting the BJP, Madhu Yashki Goud alleged that the party’s ideological legacy was rooted in collaboration with British rulers and opposition to India’s freedom struggle.
He also criticised the Narendra Modi government, alleging that it had bowed to US President Donald Trump and remained silent over China’s occupation of Indian territory. Recalling the contributions of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, he said both leaders had sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country.
