OU Telugu Department holds centenary celebrations
Centenary celebrations of Telugu Department in Osmania University were held on the college premises.
Osmania University: Centenary celebrations of Telugu Department in Osmania University were held on the college premises. Head of the Dept (Telugu) Professor Surya Dhanunjaya organised the programme and felicitated the retired employees of OU. State Government Advisor Dr K V Ramanachary graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanachary said, "It is very happy to hear that Telugu department which has a lot of glory has completed its 100 years. It has been developed a lot in recent years." He also reminded the gathering of Dr Rayaprolu Subbarao, the first HOD of Telugu department in 1919.
People who attended the gracious moment spoke about the importance of Telugu in our regular life. OU Vice-Chancellor professor S Ramachandram attended as the chief guest.
Higher Education Board Chairman Prof Limbadri, OSD prof Krishna Rao, Arts College Principal D Ravindar, Veludhanda Nithya Nanda Rao, Lecturers and Students participated in the programme.
