Hyderabad: In a strong counter to BRS working President KT Rama Rao’s claims on huge lands owned by the party Chief and his father K Chandrashekhar Rao's family decades ago, Revenue and Housing minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy released election affidavits filed under oath by KCR.

The minister said that in 2004 (Karimnagar Lok Sabha Election), KCR officially declared zero acres of agricultural and non-agricultural land, with total assets valued at Rs 85 lakh. During 2009 General Elections, the BRS leader declared 6,448 square yards of non-agricultural land (roughly 1.33 acres), alongside assets growing to Rs 2 crore. In 2014 General Elections, KCR’s Household assets scaled up to Rs 15 crore and 2023 Assembly Elections: KCR and his wife declared ownership of 67 acres, with total assets touching Rs 58 crore.

Srinivas Reddy pointed out that 67 acres declared in 2023 were purchased post-2010, coinciding with the peak of the statehood movement and the subsequent decade of BRS rule. The minister questioned how a leader declaring zero land holdings in 2004 amassed multi-crore wealth and asked whether the historical affidavits contained false data or if the public was being misled about the family’s origins of wealth. It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered an inquiry into lands owned KCR and his family members.
