Hyderabad: Telangana Director of School Education and State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha E Naveen Nicolas directed all private management schools across the state to ensure regular, accurate, and timely updating of student and teacher attendance details in the Integrated School Management System portal.
The Director stated on Wednesday that the Ministry of Education, Government of India, frequently seeks attendance-related information from state schools, making updated records in the ISMS portal essential. Headmasters and principals of private schools have been instructed to update pending attendance details for June, July, August, and September 2026 immediately. Furthermore, schools must upload attendance data for every month by the 1st of each succeeding month without fail.
The Director instructed all District Educational Officers to monitor compliance by private schools within their jurisdictions and ensure pending data is uploaded without delay, cautioning that negligence or delay will be viewed seriously. In another student-friendly initiative, the School Education Department introduced a facility enabling parents of government school students to access Summative Assessment-I examination progress cards directly through WhatsApp. This initiative aims to strengthen communication between schools and parents by providing convenient access to examination results and academic performance records.
E Naveen Nicolas encouraged parents to use the WhatsApp service to remain informed regarding their children’s academic progress while urging headmasters and teachers to create awareness about the facility. The Director emphasized that timely updating of attendance records and effective communication of student performance are essential to strengthening transparency, accountability, and parental engagement across school education.
