Hyderabad: Former Andhra Pradesh minister and former Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh stated on Sunday that Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy actions do not match the toughness of his speech, claiming that many individuals across the state would have ended up in jail had strong legal action aligned directly with his rhetoric. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, Venkatesh characterized Revanth Reddy as a pragmatic leader who proceeds with considerable patience despite making firm public statements on various governance issues. He remarked that if the Chief Minister had acted as aggressively as he speaks, numerous people would have been behind bars already.
The remarks were made during the official Bhoomi Puja performed by Revanth Reddy for the Arya Vysya Atma Gourava Bhavan at Uppal Bhagayath. Venkatesh highlighted that the Chief Minister holds the Arya Vysya community in high regard and expressed deep appreciation for his active participation in the foundation ceremony. Recalling his past political efforts, Venkatesh noted his earlier advocacy for a united Andhra Pradesh, explaining that his primary objective had been maintaining state unity rather than seeking territorial division.
Referring to regional identity, Venkatesh mentioned that his personal initials are TG, recalling how the abbreviation was initially altered from TG to TS following the formation of Telangana. He credited Revanth Reddy with restoring the official TG identity, adding that the Chief Minister had acknowledged his ancestors hailed from Telangana. Concluding his address, Venkatesh announced a personal contribution of Rs 1 crore toward the construction of the Arya Vysya Atma Gourava Bhavan project.
