22,132 houses located in colonies on Sec 22-A, POB lands: Ponguleti

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that 22,132 houses are located in colonies situated on Section 22-A, government and Prohibited Objects Book (POB) lands across Sangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Ranga Reddy districts.
The Revenue Minister released the data on Saturday, while participating in the short discussion on Section 22-A. He said in Sangareddy district, nine colonies in the Patancheru constituency have been identified on 22-A lands, comprising a total of 2,117 houses. These include BHEL Colony, Nadigudem Colony, Bonsai Colony, Bandlaguda Colony, Srinagar Colony, Sri Ramnagar Colony, Durga Colony and Muthangi Colony. BHEL Colony alone accounts for 720 and 426 houses in two entries, while Srinagar and Sri Ramnagar colonies comprise 59 and 259 apartments respectively.
In Medchal-Malkajgiri district, 10,395 houses have been identified in colonies located on government lands other than Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) lands. Devendar Nagar in Medchal has 1,080 houses, while BJR Nagar and Laxminarasimha Colony in Uppal together have 1,623 houses. Ganeshnagar Colony in Quthbullapur has 1,000 houses.
Another group comprising Renuka Nagar, Vinobha Nagar, Tarakarama Nagar, Sri Sai Ram Nagar, Krishna Hills, Kakthiya Nagar and 18 other colonies in Medchal has 5,118 houses. Jaipuri Colony in Uppal has 574 houses, while Kanakadurga Nagar in Quthbullapur has 1,000 houses. The district also has 4,530 houses in colonies located on ULC lands. Prathampuri and Eshwarpuri colonies have 536 houses, while Chilkanagar and Swaroopnagar have 850. Padma Nagar has 1,200 houses and Subashnagar has 1,950 houses.
In Ranga Reddy district, a total of 5,080 houses have been identified in colonies existing on POB lands. Serilingampally accounts for the largest share, with Ayyappa Colony alone having 2,776 houses. Raja Rajeshwari Colony, Golden Tulip, KMR Estate, Madhava Hills and OU Professor Colony together have 1,089 houses.
Other colonies in Serilingampally include Raghavendra Colony, ABC, Ananda Nagar and Hanuman Nagar with 508 houses, Sriram Nagar Colony with 386 houses, Prashanth Nagar Colony with 38 houses and Jubilee Enclave with 29 houses.
In Maheshwaram, Raghavendra Colony, Gayatri Homes and the area behind Mahindra Elite Apartment have 173 houses. Aravind Colony, Brundavan Colony and Vivekanandanagar in Rajendranagar have 44, 18 and 19 houses respectively.
The figures highlight the presence of thousands of residential properties and households in areas covered by various land restrictions, underscoring the complexity of the Section 22-A and POB issue and the need for careful examination of land records and existing legal restrictions.
