Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy speaks at a review meeting on the distribution of uniforms and kits to students in government hostels, residential schools and government schools under various departments
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered officials concerned to seek feedback from students regarding the quality of school uniforms supplied across government schools. The Chief Minister held a comprehensive review meeting on Thursday regarding the distribution of uniforms and student kits in government hostels, schools, and residential educational institutions.
Emphasising that uniforms should feature high quality alongside attractive colours and designs compared to past supplies, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to gather feedback directly from students about preferred colours and designs, ensuring the final choices reflect the majority preference.
During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the distribution of school uniforms alongside essential student accessories, including ties, belts, ID cards, shoes, socks, plates, glasses, bowls, mats, and school bags, is almost completed.
The distribution of specific items under the purview of one or two welfare organisations has reached 95 per cent completion. Following the update, the Chief Minister directed department officials to complete the remaining distribution process at the earliest without delay.
Revanth Reddy further instructed that clear Standard Operating Procedures must be formulated for providing uniforms and educational materials to students for the upcoming academic year. He stressed that every operational stage, from finalizing the comprehensive list of items to be provided and conducting the tendering process to actual procurement, supply, and final distribution, must strictly occur within stipulated time frames.
Additionally, an action plan must be prepared immediately to guarantee that all student items are fully available on the very first day of school reopening.
The government aims to streamline administrative procedures, eliminate supply chain delays, and ensure public school students receive high-quality educational infrastructure and personal supplies seamlessly at the commencement of every new academic session across Telangana state.
