Hyderabad : Apparently wooing the Telugu film industry in the ensuing GHMC elections, the State government on Monday permitted the reopening of cinema theatres and multiplexes and the TRS ruling also announced sops to the welfare of workers in the film industry.
Soon after the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced lifting of ban on the opening of theatres at the release of TRS manifesto here, the government issued an order permitting the cinema halls to run film shows with 50 per cent of the total seat capacity.
It is mandated that all persons, audience, staff, vendors use masks all time make available sanitizers at entry and exit points and common areas also. It is mandatory that sanitization of entire premises particularly common areas should be done after every screening.
The government instructed the theatre managements to maintain temperature in the range of 24 to 30 degree Celsius and show timings should be staggered to ensure that intervals of different shows do not occur simultaneously.
The chief minister appealed to the managements to take the decision of reopening the theatres cautiously in the wake of the threat of a second wave of corona virus.
The CM announced that State GST amount would be reimbursed on the low budget films made with Rs 10 crore as corona relief in the crisis time. The manifesto also made the promise of issuing ration cards and health cards to all workers in the film industry.
