Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP unit president N Ramchander Rao launched a sharp political attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday following remarks made in Goa where the Chief Minister compared the BJP to Ravan and the Congress to Lord Ram. Addressing media representatives at the state party headquarters, Ramchander Rao termed the comparison deplorable, asserting that Congress had previously questioned the historical existence of Lord Ram in Supreme Court affidavits, opposed the Ayodhya Ram Temple construction, and boycotted the temple consecration ceremony. He claimed that Revanth Reddy invoked Lord Ram in Goa to avoid provoking MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Telangana.

Ramchander Rao further criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and cabinet ministers for travelling to Delhi during severe agricultural distress across Telangana. He stated that while local farmers face acute electricity shortages and irrigation water deficits, state leaders prioritized political demonstrations in the national capital over cabinet meetings. The BJP chief characterized the Delhi protests as a political exercise to re-launch Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, whose previous political relaunches he claimed had failed. He added that by attacking Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the Congress party was actively undermining the credibility of the Election Commission as a constitutional body.

Responding to allegations raised by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar regarding deliberate voter list deletions, Ramchander Rao accepted the challenge to verify claims at the Chief Electoral Officer office. The BJP leader stated he was prepared to meet the minister alongside any representatives, including MP Asaduddin Owaisi or MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi. Challenging the state administration to present at least ten voters whose names were wrongfully removed, Ramchander Rao demanded proof of intentional voter roll deletions before making public accusations.
