BJP Kakinada
Kakinada: BJP district leaders Enimireddy Malakondaiah and Duvvuri Subrahmanyam condemned attacks on police during the youth-led protest in Delhi demanding the Chief Election Commissioner’s resignation. They said violence would erode public support for any movement.
While affirming citizens’ right to peaceful protest, they alleged the agitation over CEC appointment and voter deletions could pressure Supreme Court, where related cases are pending.
They claimed anti-social elements and emotionally charged youths were assaulting police, with incidents rising after Congress joined the movement. The leaders cautioned young people against becoming political tools and risking criminal cases.
Rejecting claims of 13 crore vote deletions in Special Intensive Revision, they said the figures covered 2.80 crore deceased, 6.30 crore permanently migrated, three crore absent and 1.02 crore duplicate entries. They urged youth to await the Supreme Court’s verdict and noted its observations on protests without permission.
