KTR Slams Congress Over Unfulfilled Promises to Telangana Youth

Karimnagar: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that the Congress had failed to honour its promises to students and unemployed youth in the State.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign, KTR said the Congress leader should visit Telangana and listen to the concerns of students. He alleged that the youth were still waiting for several promises made by the Congress before the Assembly elections.

“Rahul Gandhi is speaking about the voice of students across the country. He should come to Telangana and listen to the voice of Telangana’s students,” KTR said.

He questioned the Congress leadership over its promise to provide two lakh jobs every year in Telangana and sought clarity on the job calendar, Youth Commission, unemployment allowance, youth loans, fee reimbursement and reservations for local youth in private-sector employment.

KTR also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, challenging him to face the youth and the BRS in the Assembly and respond to questions over the unfulfilled promises.

“Then it was the Youth Declaration; now it is Revanth’s ‘Boothu Calendar’,” KTR remarked, alleging that the State had no job calendar but only a “scam calendar”.

Referring to youth protests in Delhi, he said the Centre had taken note of the concerns raised by young people. He also challenged Rahul Gandhi to visit Telangana, warning that if he failed to do so, the BRS would take the issue to Delhi.

Responding to demands for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s resignation, KTR ruled it out, saying KCR had fought for and secured Telangana statehood.

KTR said Congress leaders should take responsibility for their “420 unfulfilled promises” and warned that the government would face political consequences over its failures.
