Narender Reddy calls for joint action to clear dump yard

Karimnagar: Former SUDA chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy has urged political leaders to stop blame games and work together to resolve the dump yard problem affecting residents.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said nearly five lakh metric tonnes of waste has accumulated at the site. He proposed deploying four machines to process 2,000 metric tonnes daily, which he said could clear the backlog within a year. He also called for the early release of UCF funds to expedite the work.
Narender Reddy alleged that the previous civic administration had failed to use Smart City funds to clear the dump yard. He stressed the need for better monitoring and separate collection of wet and dry waste to reduce fresh accumulation.
As an immediate measure to control smoke, he suggested drilling borewells around the site and installing sprinklers. He offered cooperation in resolving the issue and urged leaders to prioritise public welfare over political credit.
