Anyone lacking kind heart is truly disabled, says Megha Reddy
Wanaparthy: “Anyone lacking a kind heart is truly disabled; disability affects the body, not the mind,” observed local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy on Sunday while assuring that he will always stand by persons with disabilities.
At his camp office, Reddy honoured the newly elected executive committee members of the Wanaparthy District Deaf and Mute Association with shawls and congratulated them.
He stated that while a person may have a physical disability, the mind should not be disabled; those unable to empathise with others’ hardships or stand by those in distress are the ones who are truly disabled. ‘Everyone should treat persons with disabilities with respect, affection, and humanity.’ He praised the talent and self-confidence of persons with disabilities and extended his best wishes to them.
The MLA noted that persons with disabilities are excelling in various fields and proving their talent; with the right encouragement and opportunities, they can achieve even greater success. “Disability is not a barrier to success and that one can scale great heights in life through self-confidence and determination. True development is possible only when everyone in society receives equal respect and equal opportunities,” he said.
Reddy congratulated the new office-bearers: president M Karnakar, vice-president J Shyam, general secretary P Revanth, joint secretary V Nagaraj, treasurer S Praveen Kumar, and executive members.
Municipal vice-chairman Madhusudan Goud, DCC vice-president Tirupataiah, party leaders, activists were present.
