Sathupalli ( Khammam) : Various service activities, including honouring Anganwadi staff, cleanliness drives and plantation programmes, were organised in Vemsoor mandal of Sathupalli constituency as part of the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan being held to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service journey.
BJP state spokesperson and Sathupalli constituency in-charge Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao participated in the programmes organised under the leadership of Vemsoor mandal BJP president Gorla Prabhakar Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said the campaign was aimed at promoting the spirit of public service and undertaking activities benefiting different sections of society. He said BJP leaders and workers were conducting programmes focusing on cleanliness, environmental protection, women’s empowerment, child welfare, education, health and social service.
At Kallur Gudem village, Rao visited an Anganwadi centre and felicitated the Anganwadi teachers and workers for their services. He also distributed sweets to the children.
Anganwadi centres play an important role in providing early education, nutrition and healthcare to children, particularly in rural areas, he said, appreciating the services rendered by the Anganwadi staff.
Later, a cleanliness drive was conducted at the Seetharam Anjaneya Swamy temple in the village. Rao said maintaining clean surroundings was essential for building a healthy society.
At Adacherlapadu village, Rao visited another Anganwadi centre and felicitated the staff. He also participated in a plantation programme along with the children of the centre.
Rao said involving children in environmental protection activities would help inculcate a sense of responsibility towards nature from an early age. Every sapling planted today would become a valuable asset for future generations by contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment, he said.
He called upon BJP district office-bearers, mandal presidents, leaders, workers, supporters and the public to participate in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan programmes being conducted across the country and make them successful.
