Telangana on devpt path in all sectors: Dy CM

Khammam: “Telangana is progressing on the path of development across all sectors while according priority to welfare and development,” Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti VikramarkaMallu said on Thursday.

Addressing the Telangana PrajaPalana (People’s Governance) Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds here, Bhatti hoisted the national flag and said the state had given priority to welfare and development during the first 1,000 days of the people’s government.

Students performed cultural programmes, including songs on PrajaPalana, Telangana formation and the state’s cultural and social movements, during the celebrations. The families of Telangana martyrs Jarpula Suresh, Meena Venu, Vempadi Ramakrishna, SK Mahmood Pasha and Yanmandula Venugopal were felicitated on the occasion.

Bhatti later inspected stalls set up by various departments, including agriculture, horticulture, DRDA, welfare, health and medical services, forest, education, SC/ST/BC/minority welfare, power, cybercrime, TGRTC, civil supplies and model schools.

He said the sacrifices of those who fought for democratic freedom must be remembered and honoured. The government, he said, had accorded top priority to the welfare of the poor, farmers, women, youth and students.

Under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women were being provided free travel in TSRTC buses and LPG cylinders at Rs 500, he said. Women in Khammam district had saved Rs 343.44 crore through free bus travel, he added.

Under RythuBharosa, Rs 427.96 crore had been disbursed to 3,41,913 farmers in the district, while 1,31,760 farmers had been relieved of a loan burden of Rs 912.61 crore under the crop loan waiver scheme, Bhatti said.

He said 2.49 lakh families consuming up to 200 units of electricity a month were receiving free power under Gruha Jyothi. Telangana was being developed as a green energy state, with a target of achieving 20,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said works on the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Scheme, Palair Link Canal, Munneru-Palair Link Canal and Jawahar Lift Irrigation projects had been expedited. A flood protection wall was being constructed in Khammam city at a cost of Rs 525.36 crore, he said.

The government was also establishing Young India Integrated Schools, Advanced Technology Centres and engineering and nursing colleges in the district, besides strengthening Rajiv Aarogyasri and providing advanced medical facilities in hospitals, he said.

In the first phase, 16,597 Indiramma houses had been sanctioned in the district and financial assistance of Rs 491.8 crore provided, Bhatti said. Free fine rice was also being supplied every month to poor families, he added. Through T-iPASS and PMEGP, investments of more than Rs 577 crore had been attracted to the district, creating opportunities for skill development and employment for youth, he said.

“Coordinating welfare and development, the people’s government is moving forward with the objective of ensuring the welfare of every family and comprehensive development of every region,” Bhatti said.
