MLA ThudiMegha Reddy at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumalayya Gutta
Wanaparthy: Local MLA ThudiMegha Reddy announced that the government had sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the comprehensive development of Tirumalayya Gutta, a spiritual destination in the Wanaparthy region, to transform it into a tourist centre equipped with necessary facilities.
The MLA said that development works would be undertaken as part of a comprehensive plan to promote tourism and provide better amenities to devotees. As part of his visit on Saturday, Megha Reddy climbed the hill via the steps and offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. He performed special rituals and sought the blessings of the deity. Later, he inspected the temple premises and the existing facilities. He said the government’s objective was to develop Tirumalayya Gutta not only as a spiritual centre but also as a tourist destination capable of attracting visitors.
Explaining the proposed works, the MLA said that the sanctioned amount would be utilised to improve road connectivity to the hill, provide drinking water facilities, construct a green hotel, develop accommodation facilities for tourists to relax and establish other essential infrastructure. Pointing out that devotees from the Wanaparthy region visit Tirupati on the seventh of every month to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, he appealed to people to also visit the Lord’s temple at Tirumalayya Gutta in their own region. He urged local devotees to visit the temple on the seventh of every month, offer prayers to the deity and actively participate in the development of the spiritual centre.
