Gargeyapuram football stars ready for state c’ships

Kurnool: Three students from Gargeyapuram school have been selected for the Kurnool district football team following their impressive performance in the 70th School Games Federation (SGF) district-level Under-17 selection trials held on Wednesday.

School headmaster Alaganuru Lakshmanna congratulated and felicitated the selected athletes during a special program organized on the school premises.

In the girls’ category, Manjula was selected as a forward and Madhumathi as a defender, while J Anil Kumar secured his place in the boys’ team as a defender.

All three students demonstrated exceptional sporting skills during the district-level trials conducted under the aegis of the Kurnool district SGF.

Speaking on the occasion, headmaster Lakshmanna stated that the school prioritizes sports and actively encourages students to hone their skills to achieve excellence. He appreciated parents for motivating their children to participate in athletic pursuits, assuring continued administrative support for aspiring sportspersons.

Physical education teacher Paul Vijay Kumar announced that the 70th State-Level SGF Football Championships would take place in Rajamahendravaram, East Godavari district, from October 10 to 13.

He expressed immense confidence that the selected students would deliver a strong performance at the state level and strive to earn spots in the Andhra Pradesh state team. Physical education teacher Rajasekhar also participated in the felicitation ceremony.
