Mahabubnagar: Government Whip and Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy said students studying in government junior colleges possess immense talent and can achieve results on par with their peers from private and corporate institutions, if provided with encouragement and quality training.
Addressing a felicitation programme at his camp office held for students who secured top ranks through the PIONEER coaching programme, he said the initiative, launched under ‘Mahabubnagar First’ three years ago, has been helping more than 100 students every year secure admissions into medical, engineering, and other professional courses. He appreciated the managements, principals and faculty of Vagdevi, Pratibha and Rishi Junior Colleges for providing special coaching to government college students for several months.
He said students attended additional coaching for two hours after regular college hours, and their hard work, along with the dedication of teachers and support of parents, had resulted in the achievement.
Yennamsaid students were securing admissions in medicine, engineering, nursing, agriculture, veterinary science and biotechnology, while training in computer knowledge and skill development was also being provided through TASK. He urged students to remain focused on their chosen courses, improve their technical knowledge and develop practical skills rather than merely pursuing degrees. Mayor Gummala Mamatha Srinivas, District Intermediate Education Officer Chiluka Ramani, college principals, and others participated in the event.
