MLA inaugurates newly constructed sub-treasury Office
Nellore: Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy inaugurated newly established Sub-Treasury Office at an expenditure of Rs 1 crore in Kovur on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, she said the role of employees is vital, who strive to ensure that government schemes and welfare programmes reach people at grassroot level. Without employees, it will be difficult to take up projects or any programmes, she added.
The MLA said that the dilapidated condition of the Sub-Treasury Office building sans basic facilities on the same premises was brought to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Soon after coming to power, he sanctioned construction of a new building, she said.
The MLA said around 150 Drawing and Disbursing Officers came under the jurisdiction of the Sub-Treasury Office, which plays a crucial role in processing government employees’ salary bills, travelling allowances, medical reimbursements, leave-related financial benefits and other government bills. She added that the new facility would benefit government employees, pensioners and government offices in Kovur, Kodavalur, Vidavalur and Allur mandals.
