Nellore: Continuing its dominance following recent urban local body elections, the TDP-led NDA alliance scored a massive victory in the ZPTC and MPTC elections held across Nellore district on Saturday.
Vote counting for 30 ZPTC and 362 MPTC seats commenced at 8 AM across six major counting centers in Atmakur, Kodavalur, Udayagiri, Kavali, Gudur, and Nellore city. District Collector and District Election Officer Himanshu Shukla personally inspected arrangements at the VRC Post Graduate Studies counting center in Nellore city to ensure a smooth verification process.
Administration deployed 1,158 counting personnel across 352 counting tables to manage the exercise, where 8,53,540 out of 12,85,840 registered voters cast their votes. Election trends in Atmakur and Nellore Rural constituencies proved largely one-sided in favor of the NDA. Under the leadership of Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, the alliance secured decisive victories in Atmakur constituency, sweeping MPTC seats in Marripadu, Sangam, Atmakur, and AS Pet mandals.
Similar NDA leads were recorded across Udayagiri, Kavali, Gudur, Kovur, and Nellore Rural segments.
By 8 PM, official declarations confirmed TDP had secured 39 MPTC seats, YSRCP claimed 16, while Jana Sena Party and BJP won one seat each.
Although opposition YSRCP showed slight resistance in select pockets compared to urban polls, the overall mandate reflected an overwhelming endorsement of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s NDA governance across rural Nellore.
