New Delhi: The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tightened its organisational grip by removing North East district general secretary Hitendra Tyagi from his post with immediate effect, following a series of complaints over his alleged conduct and functioning.

The action was taken on the directions of Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra after the party’s disciplinary committee recommended action against Tyagi. According to information, complaints alleging misconduct, inappropriate behaviour and arbitrary functioning had been reaching the senior leadership for some time. Three serious complaints received recently reportedly prompted the disciplinary committee to examine the matter and recommend his removal.

Following the recommendation, the Delhi BJP leadership relieved Tyagi of his responsibilities as North East district general secretary. The decision has caused a stir within the party’s organisational ranks and is being viewed as a strong warning that disciplinary issues involving office-bearers will not be overlooked.

The BJP leadership has also moved swiftly to fill the vacant organisational post. Satyadev Chaudhary has been appointed as the new general secretary of the North East district in place of Tyagi. The change in responsibility has come into effect immediately, ensuring that the district’s organisational functioning continues without a prolonged vacancy.

The development comes as the Delhi BJP leadership maintains a greater focus on discipline, conduct and organisational accountability among its office-bearers. The swift action following the disciplinary committee’s recommendation indicates that the party intends to respond firmly to complaints involving its functionaries.
