Arvind flags off Asmita Road cycling championship

Nizamabad: Member of Parliament Arvind Dharmapuri flagged off the state-level Asmita Road Cycling Championship organised under the aegis of Khelo India on the Nizamabad bypass road on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind expressed satisfaction over Nizamabad recording the highest number of registrations in the country for the championship. Recalling the region’s rich sporting legacy, he said local athletes had consistently excelled at national and international competitions and brought laurels to the district.

The MP said the Central Government was committed to promoting sports and providing opportunities for emerging athletes to showcase their talent. He encouraged the young cyclists to set ambitious goals and work towards representing the country at the Olympics.

Arvind also interacted with the participating cyclists and encouraged them to pursue excellence in the sport. He later posed for selfies with the young participants, adding to the enthusiasm surrounding the championship.
