Nizamabad: The Telangana Pollution Control Board’s Regional Office organised a World Ozone Day awareness programme at Ambedkar Bhavan, near Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, in Nizamabad on Wednesday.

Environmental Engineer Ravidas led the programme and urged people to minimise the use of ozone-depleting substances and contribute to environmental protection. Assistant Environmental Scientist Tirupati gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of the ozone layer, the threats posed by its depletion and measures to protect it.

District Science Officer Ganga Kishan, who attended as the chief guest, stressed the need for collective efforts to preserve the ozone layer and prevent further depletion.

Representatives from various industries, hospitals and community organisations participated in the workshop. The programme focused on creating greater public awareness about ozone protection and encouraging environmentally responsible practices among citizens and institutions.
