150 medical camps planned in Ongole

Ongole: District Collector P Raja Babu announced that the district administration plans to organise 150 medical camps this month as part of the celebrations marking 150 years of Ongole municipality, and called on all doctors in the city to join the effort.

He attended a special meeting with doctors of Ongole town at the local Indian Medical Association Hall on Friday. Speaking at the meeting, the Collector explained how Ongole is growing and described the plans to develop it to meet future needs. He said the healthcare sector is receiving special attention as part of the 150th-year celebrations. He also informed that steps would be taken to set up a medical hub where hospitals offering various services would be brought together in one place. He urged doctors to join hands in carrying forward Ongole’s rich heritage and to extend their services and support for the medical camps.

PDCC Bank chairman Dr Kamepalli Sitaramaiah said that doctors would do their part in city development and public health protection. Doctors welcomed the medical hub proposal and assured their cooperation in organising the camps.

IMA president Dr Nagaiah Naidu, DMHO Dr Venkateswarlu, Municipal Health Officer Dr Vaishnavi and a large number of doctors took part in the meeting.
