Ongole: Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy urged citizens to contribute to the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra 2047, drawing inspiration from the freedom struggle.
He was the chief guest at the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds here on Saturday. The minister hoisted the national flag and received the guard of honour.
He said Andhra Pradesh aimed to build a Rs 200 lakh crore economy by 2047, raise per capita income to Rs 36 lakh and achieve annual growth above 15 per cent.
Families of freedom fighters were honoured. Departmental tableaux and cultural programmes were organised, while 680 officials and staff received merit awards. Cheques worth Rs 358.58 crore were distributed to DRDA, MEPMA and APMIP beneficiaries.
