Discipline and commitment key to policing: Min Narayana

Tirupati: A passing-out parade and training completion ceremony was held at 9th Battalion Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) campus in Venkatagiri on Friday to mark successful completion of nine months of induction training by 231 newly recruited SCT police constables.

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana attended the programme as the chief guest. Venkatagiri MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna, 9th APSP Battalion Commandant and Principal K Ramachandra, Additional Commandant M L Manohar, senior police officials participated in the event. The trainees completed rigorous training in physical fitness, mental strength, weapon handling, law and order, crowd management, bandobast duties, security arrangements and emergency services. The passing-out parade reflected their discipline, confidence and preparedness to take up police responsibilities.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Narayana congratulated all 231 constables on successfully completing their training. He said police personnel had a great responsibility to protect society, maintain peace and uphold law and order. He advised them to perform their duties with discipline, honesty, courage, commitment and a humanitarian approach.

The Minister said police uniform was not just a dress but a symbol of public trust, government responsibility, discipline and service. He urged the constables to work with the feeling that they were serving the people and to make every effort to earn their confidence.

He asked them to remain alert while dealing with law and order problems, VIP security, election duties and emergency situations. Police personnel should listen patiently to the grievances of victims and implement the law impartially, teamwork and presence of mind were also essential for effective policing, he said.

MLA K Ramakrishna congratulated the constables and urged them to serve society with dedication. He called upon them to protect peace and security and render respectful and responsible service to the public.
