Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 for in-service teachers began peacefully across the State on Sunday, with more than 97% of registered candidates appearing for the examinations in both sessions.
According to MV Krishna Reddy, convener of AP Special TET for In-Service Teachers 2026, the examinations are being conducted from October 11 to 15 as per the schedule announced by the State government.
In the morning session on the first day, 9,707 of the 9,938 registered teachers appeared for Paper IA (Telugu) at 48 examination centres, recording an attendance of 97.68%.
In the afternoon session, 12,005 of the 12,296 registered teachers appeared for Paper IA (Telugu), Paper IA (Minority Media) and Paper IB at 54 examination centres. The attendance in the second session stood at 97.63%. A total of 22,234 teachers were registered for the two sessions, of whom 21,712 appeared for the examinations. The overall attendance was approximately 97.65%.
Krishna Reddy said the first day’s examinations were conducted peacefully. The Special TET is being held specifically for in-service teachers in accordance with the State government’s announced schedule.
