NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu
Vijayawada: NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu has directed hotels, guest houses, house owners, hospitals, hostels, ashrams, dharamshalas and educational institutions providing accommodation or shelter to foreign nationals to mandatorily register their arrival, stay and departure details online with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 24 hours.
In a press release issued in Vijayawada on Wednesday, the Commissioner said establishments accommodating foreign nationals must furnish details such as passport and visa particulars, personal information, accommodation details and date of arrival through the prescribed online system.
The Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 places obligations on accommodation providers, educational institutions and medical establishments to furnish information relating to foreign nationals to the Registration Officer, he said. He said establishments should use the prescribed Form III/Form C online portal to submit the details and should not be negligent in complying with the requirements. As per the official FRRO portal, accommodation providers, hotels and educational institutions are required to submit Form II (Form A) and Form III (Form C) details for all foreign nationals, including OCI cardholders, under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. The Commissioner warned that failure to comply with the statutory requirements could invite action under the provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
He advised hotel and guest-house managements, individual house owners, educational institutions, hospitals and other establishments providing accommodation or services to foreign nationals to strictly follow the prescribed procedures.
He also advised foreign nationals visiting the NTR District Police Commissionerate limits for employment, education, medical treatment, tourism or other purposes to respect Indian laws and carry valid passports and visas.
The Commissioner further said Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders residing abroad were not eligible to contest or vote in elections in India and were prohibited from purchasing agricultural land, as per the applicable legal provisions. The official FRRO portal provides online registration and immigration-related services for foreign nationals, he said.
