Endowments Commissioner visits Bala Vikasa Kendram

Vijayawada: Endowments Commissioner K Ramachandra Mohan visited the Samarasatha Bala Vikasa Kendram at Ganganamma temple at Bodapadu hamlet of Nunna in Vijayawada Rural mandal of NTR district on Tuesday.
During his visit, Ramachandra Mohan performed special pujas at the Ganganamma Ammavaru temple located on the premises. Temple priest Guravaiah offered Asirvachanam to the Commissioner on the occasion. The Ganganamma temple was constructed by the Samarasatha Seva Foundation with the support of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The Bala Vikasa Kendram is imparting education to children with a focus on Indian traditions, culture and spirituality. Teacher Bandi Naga Padma has been conducting classes and guiding the students in these areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramachandra Mohan said his visit to the centre reminded him of his childhood days and the values associated with Indian culture, Sanatana traditions and spiritual practices. He expressed the hope that such traditional values would once again gain greater prominence in society.
He described the children studying at the Kendram as “torchbearers” of Indian culture and appreciated the efforts being made by teacher Bandi Naga Padma in educating and guiding them.
The Commissioner assured the organisers of support through the Endowments Department and suggested that similar cultural and spiritual programmes be extended to villages across all 824 temples in the State. He called for preparing a proper plan to expand the activities and programmes of the Kendram to more villages. Samarasatha Seva Foundation State president Vishnu, NTR district in-charge Jayashankar, Excellence Award winner in Astrology Dr Mamillapalli Phani Kumar, Ganganamma Temple president Bandi Anikumar, secretary Vijaya Lakshmi and others were present.
