Vijayawada: Agriculture department officials conducted extensive inspections at biostimulant manufacturing and sales centres in NTR district on Tuesday to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory norms.
The inspections were carried out under the supervision of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Ch Tirumaladevi in Jakkampudi, Bhavanipuram and Ambapuram areas under the Vijayawada Sub-Division. Officials examined records relating to theprocurement and supply of raw materials, production quantities, stocks, purchase and sales bills, stock registers, bill books, A2 records and Form-O, among others. They also checked whether manufacturers and dealers were complying with prescribed requirements relating to labelling, QR codes and the manufacture and sale of biostimulant products. During the inspections, officials found that products weighing around 85 kg and valued at Rs 1.53 lakh at Sadashiva Agro Chemicals, Vijayawada, were in violation of Clauses 20(C) and 35 of the Fertiliser Control Order. The officials immediately ordered the sale of the products to be stopped and said further legal action would be initiated for the violations.
