Vijayawada: State director of survey, settlement and land records Ronanki Kurmanadh directed officials to ensure that farmers are informed in advance and are present during the re-survey of their lands to ensure transparency and prevent errors.
Kurmanadh conducted a surprise inspection of the re-survey being carried out at Guntupalli village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of NTR district on Saturday, along with district revenue and survey officials. He expressed satisfaction over the survey being conducted in the presence of farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Kurmanadh said surprise field-level inspections were being conducted along with farmers to ensure transparency and prevent recurrence of mistakes in the re-survey process. He directed officials to ensure that the concerned farmer or a family member was present at the field when the survey commenced.
He further instructed officials to conduct boundary determination in the presence of farmers after completion of the survey, following document verification. District survey officer Y Mohan Rao was directed to ensure that farmers were kept informed at every stage until they received pattadar passbooks containing accurate land measurements.
The director said Re-survey 2.0 was being implemented across the state with the objective of resolving land-related problems permanently and preventing mistakes from being repeated. After the survey, land details would be communicated to farmers through notices based on the boundaries identified by them and subsequently verified against official documents.
He said e-KYC was being made mandatory to ensure the participation of farmers and provide them with complete information about the survey process.
Kurmanadh said re-survey was being conducted in 628 villages under Phase-I, 748 under Phase-II, 729 under Phase-III and 1,645 under Phase-IV. Across the State, around 2,800 teams were carrying out surveys using advanced rovers. Under Phase-V, re-survey was being conducted in 1,343 villages with the active participation of farmers.
He said farmers were expressing satisfaction with the process and that a mechanism had been put in place to resolve field-level issues immediately. He said the department was working towards the government’s objective of making Andhra Pradesh a land-dispute-free state by March 2027.
District survey officer Mohan Rao, tahsildar Ribka, Guntupalli village surveyors Datta and Samson, revenue and survey staff, and farmers were present.
