Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted and Gazetted Officers (APNGGO) Association state president A Vidyasagar said every individual should think beyond personal interests and contribute to society’s welfare. He inaugurated a mega blood donation camp organised by the Andhra Pradesh Paper Merchants Welfare Association in association with the Indian Red Cross Society at the AP NGGOs Home in Gandhinagar here on Friday, marking the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Vidyasagar paid floral tributes to the portraits of Gandhi and Shastri and appreciated the Paper Merchants Welfare Association for organising the blood donation camp. Drawing inspiration from Gandhi’s spirit of service and Shastri’s commitment to duty, Vidyasagar urged employees, youth and members of the business community to take an active role in social welfare programmes.
Association president Y Lakshmikantha Rao said the organisation was conducting service activities with the sole objective of contributing to society. Paper Merchants Association secretary Mafatlal Jain, vice-president K Nageswara Rao, Red Cross district secretary E Chittibabu, vice-chairman Dr Velaga Joshi and several NGO Association and Red Cross representatives participated.
