Vijayawada: The newly formed NTR Zilla Parishad (ZP) formally commenced its operations with NTR District Collector and Zilla Parishad Special Officer Dr G Lakshmisha inaugurating its office in Vijayawada on Friday.
The ZP’s temporary office has been arranged at the Zilla Parishad Guest House on MG Road, adjacent to the Joint Collector’s office. The office was inaugurated as part of the reorganisation of the existing 13 districts into 28 districts.
The newly constituted Zilla Parishads began functioning from Friday in 15 districts following the restructuring. The State government has appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer Kodali Anuradha for the NTR Zilla Parishad, and she assumed charge as Deputy CEO on Friday. The inauguration programme was organised by the CEO of the erstwhile Krishna Zilla Parishad, Dr J Aruna. After inaugurating the office, collector Lakshmisha assumed charge as the Special Officer of the NTR Zilla Parishad.
Officials said the staff allocated to the NTR ZP would join within a day or two. The staff includes administrative officers, senior assistants, junior assistants and other personnel.
The distribution of staff among the newly formed Zilla Parishads has already been completed. Krishna ZP Deputy CEO Anand, NTR ZP Deputy CEO Kodali Anuradha, Divisional Level Development Officer (DLDO) Venkata Lakshmisha, Vijayawada Rural MPDO K Parthasarathy and others were present.
